My KX is driving me nuts. After a day of putting in some ditching for a friend, it just barely had enough power to load onto my trailer. All other hydraulic functions worked normally. I checked the hydraulic fluid level, which was good and the engine was running normally. When unloading the next day, I noticed that the High speed "rabbit" light was on, which was interesting, as the high speed has never worked since buying the machine. Operating the switch for the high speed did not do anything; the light stayed on, the KX went forward and back just fine, but didn't have enough power to make a sharp turn or go up much of an incline at all. Now I have it torn apart in my shop and am hitting levels of "whisky needed now" frustration.

The speed change switch on the dozer handle is getting 12V to it, and the switch ohms out as good. I think I have traced the wire from the switch to a connector that is on what I think is the Unload Valve (controls hi/low speed??) located behind the gas tank, but I don't have continuity from the connector at the switch to the connector at the valve. I'd love to trace that wire out on a wiring diagram to make sure it's not going through a relay, but the factory workshop manual doesn't have a wiring diagram in it. The manual I've got is titled "WSM, Workshop Manual, Kubota Excavator, KX41-3V, Service Chapter, minor change version". Does anybody know of a manual that does have the wiring diagram, and maybe even a hydraulic schematic as well? While I'm asking questions, do my assumptions about high speed affecting traveling power seem reasonable?

Thanks everybody! Maybe I should have some whisky for breakfast before heading out to the shop now. :)

Just a thought, are your tracks tensioned properly? If they are loose that can affect travel.

Yes, the track tension is good. This is a problem that showed up all of a sudden, not over a period of time. It appears to be an electrical problem, although I haven't ruled out the possibility of a sticking valve. One of the other members here on the forum supplied me with a WSM that has the wiring diagram, which should help immensely once I have time again to work on it again.
