Had a couple of close calls myself today. Forestry winches are so powerful, they can jerk the tractor pretty bad when a log gets caught.

Well, after a service call (from 40 miles away), a patch, a tube and 810 northern pesos, we're back in business!

I'm actively looking for a used 5 ton excavator myself. There's been one staring at me at the dealer for the last 4 months or so... It only has 123 hrs, so quite expensive.

Was lazy and decided to clean 2" of wet snow with the bucket. I had swapped the snowblower for the forestry winch a few days back and did not swap back. Major mistake. Wasted lots of time and got stuck twice (and had to use the winch to get out). I hope I learned my lesson that getting the...

It was actually not working properly either way, regardless of how it was connected to the tractor hydraulics

Fixed some hydraulics issue on the snow blower. Removed the skates as the surface over the gravel is really hard. Cleans up much better. Cleaned driveway, parking area and skidding trails. Weather was beautiful (-3 C) and I had a great time.

Here's an update. It's been mighty cold up here and, not having a heated shop yet, did not find the courage to go do some troubleshooting outside. So, I ordered two new couplers in the meantime and had the opportunity to replace the original ones today. Success! Problem solved, cylinder works...

Got a brand new MKMartin Meteor SB78-PT inverted snowblower this year. I love it. It's just a little wider than the MX5200. I have yet to meet conditions where it did not perform well. It works beautifully for the 1000' driveway.

The remotes do not have float position.

OK, seems mostly probable that one or both of the deflector hoses has a problem. I'll go ahead and try the deflector hoses on the rotation motor this coming weekend when I get back to the country home. I'll report on the results. Thank you all for the suggestions!
