I have a 5' rough cut mower that I wanted ti have a slight offset with. I took off the right 3pt lift pin, and changed it from an "outie" to an "innie" (Reversed direction to pointing in). It works great
I had a 60" Meteor Push type, and a 68" Meteor Pull type. I didn't notice any difference in h draw with my 40 hp New Holland. The 60" had a 4 blade fan, and the 68" had a 5 blade fan however.
So, I don't know your side hill, or rock situation, which would require excavation. I don't have those issues, so I pick the path of least resistance, cut the stumps off at ground level, and keep mowed with a rough cut mower.

If have four to five foot deep drifts that could be a hundred or more yards long. You aren't using your inverted snow blower. What you need is a better travel agent.
If you get 8"-12" regularly, and 18" now and again, an inverted will be just fine.
