    Grapple safety

I just ordered my grapple and doing some learning. I've seen grapples with bent tines and misuse that puts uneven pressure on the loader arms. But this - i didn't know... A grapple can generate some serious pressure feedback which can affect hydraulics in the tractor. Thinking back - without...

    Rear blades on land plane

Some land planes come with rear facing blades and some don't even have mounting holes for them. Never having used a land plane, I can imagine situations where i might go in reverse (corners in parking area). How useful is that feature ? If nothing else, you have 2 spare blades.

Before i get too far into this job, help me decide if I have the right tractor tools - assuming i continue to use the L3400 i have. Skeleton bucket and backhoe has been doing the work so far. I might pick away at...

    Just another backhoe dolly

Finally built a dolly for my BH75. I used ideas from other people and made use of some rough cut yellow cedar 2x10 i had. Bucket platform is 21" wide. Stabilizer arm platform is 30" wide. "Rails" are 60" long. I left a 12" gap down the middle for the boom to dangle down. 4" casters are rated...

    Trenching and postholes in hardpan

I need to run some trenches and install posts in hardpan. Lots of gravel and rocks packed into the hardpan. What is the best tool(s) for the job ? I have an L3400 and BH75 backhoe. My 12" bucket can get the job done slowly. An auger just breaks shear pins. I was looking at the BX Extended...

    Replace all 4 ?

I had to replace the front tires on my L3400 due to sidewall damage. The dealer said i didn't need to replace the rears and I tend to agree. Any other opinions? It's 4wd so that's the only concern i have Rear New Fronts
