    Grapple safety

Good call. I smashed my headlight years ago. Kubota replacement was outrageously priced given that the light output was terrible. I built a frame and put LEDs in. I should add protection now - especially with the grapple.

    Grapple safety

I just ordered my grapple and doing some learning. I've seen grapples with bent tines and misuse that puts uneven pressure on the loader arms. But this - i didn't know... A grapple can generate some serious pressure feedback which can affect hydraulics in the tractor. Thinking back - without...

You even gave us a shopping list ! What is the length between SSQA handles where you attached it?

    Rear blades on land plane

Some land planes come with rear facing blades and some don't even have mounting holes for them. Never having used a land plane, I can imagine situations where i might go in reverse (corners in parking area). How useful is that feature ? If nothing else, you have 2 spare blades.

WR Long vs Summit vs OEM valve kits - deep dive

Correct - still electric-operated rear remote valves. Comparing manually operated to solenoid actuated, is it the ability of manual valves to do fast movement as well as slow? With electric, you could probably get small increments with a restrictor, but then it would always be slow. Or is it...

WR Long vs Summit vs OEM valve kits - deep dive

There are multiple threads about this but i put a more complete comparison together so i'm sharing it. I have been looking at rear remotes and third functions for my L3400. OEM - No rear kits available for L3400 - 3rd function kit not certified for my L3400 or loader - 3rd function kit that...

    SSQA landscape rake?

Get the rake attached to a SSQA so you can use it moving forward and put some skids at the bottom of the SSQA. Then the loader can be used in float and the rake can be adjusted with curl/dump adjustments on the loader

    Dipper snapped

Yes - I removed some material there thinking a notch would help prevent any sliding of the thumb. But the thumb bolts have compressed the metal ridges there as well.

    Dipper snapped

My welder had a different plan. He started with some plates on the inside then added 2 on the outside.. I probably would have moved the re-enforcement in the direction of the yellow arrow. Maybe he was trying to avoid the thumb. He extended the plate on the other side to re-enforce where...

    Tonneau Cover Suggestions/Recommendations

I had a Bak-Flip for years. Overall very happy with it and it's taken some abuse. Folded up it doesn't take up much of the bed. Can hold as much snow as you can pile on. Everything stays mostly dry under it but there can be small amounts of water - even from condensation. Can freeze to the...

    Dipper snapped

That small reinforcement plate could be an afterthought. Maybe added after sticks started getting broken on dippers with the thumb. I've been thinking that my bolt-on thumb stiffened my dipper ;) so all the stress got focused on the location that failed. Probably contributes to the problem.

How to know when your fuel storage containers have water in them.

An additive that "removes" water just emulsifies it so it flows thru the system slowly rather than collect as a separate layer of water. I don't think Mr Funnel removes water from fuel that has been treated.. I'm not knocking your fuel treatment method - just want to know if I'm wrong about that.

    Dipper snapped

I showed it to a fabricator at an excavation company. He was convinced that original welding technique was to blame. He suggested the arm was not properly pre-heated when welding the reinforcement which caused stress when it cooled. I was inclined to believe him - mainly because it exonerates...

    Dipper snapped

I appreciate all the positive comments and repair suggestions. (y) I was going to give it a try myself but decided to take it to my welder tomorrow. My welding skills are limited. If i screw it up and find out later - it's not just a "grind it down and try again" thing. Thanks guys ! I'll...
