Before you just bolt it to a ground, what color is the wire that the ring is crimped onto? It may very well be for an option that is not installed.

Check the Mode I and see that it is set to "G", not "M". T8 is probably a factory only Mode.

If you mean your 3 point wount raise, disconnect and reconnect the couplers on your loader valve hoses. Don't waste time playing with the knob under the seat unless you just enjoy doing it. It is to control the 3-point hitch rate of lowering and has nothing to do with the 3-point hitch raising.
