    Ballast Analysis

I've always considered a good rule of thumb is what ever the front can pick up you should try to hang off the rear or as close as you can. Rear lift capacity always exceeds the loader capacity so that isn't a problem. Distance from the tires is also a consideration. When I made the mount for my...

    Ballast Analysis

That comparison with rim guard in the rear tires and no 3 point ballast confirms what the other video claims. Loaded tires, while making the rear heavier and more stable, does not remove weight off the front axle.

A good video explaining the effects of loader and ballast weights.

LX vs. Standard L - are FELs and 3 pt capacity that close?

The LA535 on my LX3310 seems pretty gutless but I'm use to operating a 4310 and 4410 JD. I haven't really measured the max lifting capability on it but I bought a stump bucket it won't curl if I stick it 3/4 way into the dirt. Every time I've tried using the stump bucket I have to back out a...

    Finished my fueling station

Nice setup. I would like to get some of those galvanized pallets. I have a 100 gallon Freightliner tank set up with the same filter and a 12V pump. I just have the fuel delivered but I haven't had as much use since I finished digging all my stumps out and sold my backhoe.

    Concrete Anchor Bolts

I've seen that in some reviews on the newer cheap vises. I have beat the living shit out of a 40 year old Craftsman vise and even used it as a press with a jack handle stuck on the handle for leverage. Nary a crack!

    Concrete Anchor Bolts

I know you want to use the stand your friend made but I have always found the best place for a vise is on the corner of a bench. That gives me a area to rest something long on while clamping one end if I need to. I eliminated top tool boxes and only have the chest type now. The two main boxes...

Best Source for New Tires ?

I put Galaxy Mighty Mow turfs on my John Deere 4310. They worked great and held up fine. The rears still look good but the fronts finally gave up the ghost and started cracking and one bulged out. The fronts were always worrisome when doing loader work so I replaced those with 10 ply R4 loader...

    Wide Turf Options for LX3310?

Anyone know of a source for wide turf tires and wheels that would fit a LX3310HSDC?

Should we stop using Red and Tacky type of grease?

Most of my mechanical life I used Valvoline Ford/Lincoln/Mercury spec grease. They changed the name to multi vehicle grease. It is a 3% moly. Never had a failed bearing or seized pin. I have a trailer I built in 1993 that still has the original bearings that were used when I built it with this...

    2025 L3302 Regen

Almost never. 98% of my use is mowing at PTO speed = 2500 RPMs engine speed. I treat all my fuel with Biobor JF and recently added Biobor MD to the mix. The MD is supposed to reduce soot but it seems to have had an opposite effect on regen cycles. The last regen cycle happened 12 hours after...

    2025 L3302 Regen

It's around 360 hours now. The last 6 regen cycles have occurred in the teens of hours. If I had to park it to regen every time I wouldn't get a lot of work done for the hours run. Each regen takes 20-30 minutes.

    2025 L3302 Regen

I just re-read the "Parked" regen instructions for my LX. Apparently I have NEVER done a "Parked" regen. I did park for the first two but I never did anything but raise the RPMs to a level it liked for performing the regen. The last 3 or 4 I just kept working but I fear one day I may regret that...

    3rd Function kit

That is a lot of parts for the money. I used a Chief valve in my DIY install on my LX and had just over $500 in the whole thing. I spent hours and hours configuring everything I wanted. I bought the valve from Bailey and the side port manifold from Summit. I bought most of the hoses and...

Thread tape, thread sealant, or ????

I recently did battle with some china pipe threads and found the Blue Monster thread sealer to be the solution for me. I also had to chase the the threads both male and female. Some the tap and die went in and on smooth and some took a couple turns near the end to straighten. I used Aviation...

    Oil Extractor Recommendation

I bought one of these. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DM8R71M4 I have only used it to pump some diesel which it says not to do but it primed and pumped pretty quick. The supplied fitting orings leaked so I changed those with some from an AC kit. I saw where someone else changed the fittings...
