    Daily Chuckle

Fun fact: When I was in the Army I lived off post for a while. Nice older couple. He told of being a young mechanic, and they had a customer who was a royal pain in the patootie. I'd guess this would have been back in the 40s or so. So they dropped a large ball bearing into a section of...

    G1800 will not turn over

The microswitches carry very little current. Yes, they are potential failure points, but current is not the problem.

    G1800 will not turn over

You need to do some actual testing. Find out what voltage is getting to what terminal at the starter. You will probably need an assistant to turn the key while you take voltage measurements.

2016 BX 1870 Hydraulic filter exploding

I think it's fair to say that your filters exploded. :D

2016 BX 1870 Hydraulic filter exploding

This. A good description of "filter exploded" would be very useful. One man's "filter exploding" might be another man's "leaks a lot at the base".

2016 BX 1870 Hydraulic filter exploding

4 filters and counting? Maybe stop putting filters on until you find out what's wrong. HINT: It's not the filters.

BX25D (and all BX?) throttle lever adjustment & maintainance

But on the original topic - I've had my throttle lever work lose to the point of dropping RPM's as I was mowing, had to snug it up. Never had it get tighter though. Yes, mine had gotten loose, but then after it had sat quite a while (6 months or so?), it wouldn't budge.

    Accessories don't work

Don't go to the fuse box or the wiring diagram as your FIRST move. Measure the voltage at the battery terminals FIRST. The terminals, NOT the cable connections. If you have 10 volts there, that's why you have 10 volts in other places. Don't go chasing ghosts. If that's good, check for...

Mine has two nuts. I assumed that was factory.

BX25D (and all BX?) throttle lever adjustment & maintainance

Yes, I am going to get in there and clean things up. It's pretty humid here in Virginia, and it does live outside. There shouldn't be any actual rain getting in there, but the humidity gets everything. I got a cover for it a few years ago, but it has spent most of its life outside. I need...

BX25D (and all BX?) throttle lever adjustment & maintainance

Well, my tractor sat quite a while, as I've been mostly out of state for quite a while. My son went to use it, and the throttle lever would not budge. Bummer. I am home, so I dug into it today. Found it's a pretty simple mechanism. Loosened it up, cleaned it up, and put it back...

Funny thing about that. Turns out mealworms will eat plastic, so it's the ultimate recycling. That should drive the vegans bonkers. Recycling plastic is the Holy Grail of that crowd, but if the result is MEAT..... o_O :LOL::LOL:

Okay, this is bad. Yes, it's funny, but I just can't bring myself to give it a thumbs up! Can't even laugh about it! It's too true!!! o_O

    dewalt air compressors

There's nothing in that size range that can be called, "really good". In that size range, they are all oilless, so basically disposable. Get up at least into the 5 hp 60 gallon range, and you can now start to get something decent. And an upright 60 gallon really doesn't take up any more...

Some would say that a Warrant is higher than an officer. Well, at least higher than anyone below Lt. Colonel. o_O :D

Engine Heaters to assist cold weather starting. Which type?

I read them years ago. Sorry, I'm not going to scour the Internet looking for them. It really wasn't difficult to test. Put the heater on the pan and observe the results. The problem is that the oil is not flowing. It's parked there. It's NOT just about the numbers on the thermometer.
