Has anyone changed this seal on a L4060? Is this something most people can do or is this something to take to a dealer? Right side if it matters. Tractor has 750 hours and just made last payment in January.
The key question is are your tire filled? If so can you safely handle removal and re-installation?Has anyone changed this seal on a L4060? Yes, tires are filled and I've had one off before. I was concerned about the cab. It looks like i would have to support that rear corner above the axle. Would all the hydraulic fluid have to be drained? It's close to the 800 hour change. The key question is are your tire filled? If so can you safely handle removal and re-installation?
IDK the answer to draining hydraulic fluid, but if it‘s due anyway, why not?Yes, tires are filled and I've had one off before. I was concerned about the cab. I would say this job is way beyond the capabilities of "most people".Has anyone changed this seal on a L4060? Is this something most people can do or is this something to take to a dealer? Right side if it matters. Tractor has 750 hours and just made last payment in January.
I have the tools, proper floor space, and I think i have the skills. I don't know the proper torque for the bolts holding the axle assemble and the nut,#100.The key questions are:
Do you have the skill to do it?
Do you have the tools and equipment?
Do you have the proper space and floor?
Do you have the time?
If you failed at any point you might be better off to get someone else to do it.
And yes you either drain the fluid or it will be all over the floor!
You will need to remove this case and part to get to the seal.

Torque values and assembly/dissasembly procedure should be documented in the WSM. Dont leave home without it.I have the tools, proper floor space, and I think i have the skills. I don't know the proper torque for the bolts holding the axle assemble and the nut,#100.
The bearing #90, how far do you seat that against #100? I'm assuming flush against it.I have the time.
I have a 2 post car lift, if the cab might need to be supported while it's not bolted on that side.
