LX vs. Standard L - are FELs and 3 pt capacity that close?

I like my 2501 HST for many reasons and I have a RC for it. HOWEVER…..I completely “failed” when I bought the RC. Now in my defense, I had never even sat on a tractor with a RC attached before I bought it, and the advertisement of “can handle trees up to 2 inchs” was foremost in my mind when I...

If you hate peace and quiet and your sanity

Man I love those things. Our neighbors ususally have about 10-12 of them at any one point. They are always “patrolling” our yard, and “yes” they are loud, but I kinda enjoy listening to them “gaggle around”. They kind of drowned out the "voices in my head”……..🤫 I will say this...

Are they “one piece” ? That kinda sucks if you ever break one, or wear them out.

Any Easy Way to Determine Hydraulic Fluid

Thats a fantastic “non-traditional” use. Good idea, that I may have to use one day. Thanks for sharing (y) (y) PS. I LOVE the ‘quietness” of that splitter so much, I was kicking around the idea of when I eventually make my own splitter, I was going to go “electric”……(You know, “save the...

Any Easy Way to Determine Hydraulic Fluid

Well, I had a similar situation once. My “toy” log splitter ran dry for some unexplained reason, and I needed to “get’er done”. So against my "better judgment” I filled it with SUDT cause thats all I had on the shelf. I have no idea of the viscosity, nor do I have any evidence that it’s kosher...

    BX won't go in reverse.

I would troubleshoot one problem at a time. Forget about the black smoke at start up for now. First, get a “zip tie” (or similar) and bypass the seat switch by closing the switch manually, then trying to move it, and report back.

Looks like a clean tire puncture

On a side note………. Your picture looks like me “praying to God” that I don't hit my cottage just before I cut that tree down 5 years ago…..hahahahah

Looks like a clean tire puncture

Kubota sells a “magic tire sealant” that claims to be able to stop large punctures. Not sure if it would work, but it might be worth a try. They “claim” it works up to 5/8” diameter ….which it appears you might be approaching.

    Engine oil question.

JK…... Rotella 5w-40 full synthetic, would be a good choice. I recently switched to it for the tractor since it gets pretty cold here, and I found a “stupid good” rebate deal….. ;) I’ve been using Rotella for 25+ years in my diesels and I like it. But I’m sure there are guys that have...

    Welder Advice

I agree with the 220V machine, but I’m not "100% sold" on the import machines causing bad welds. Similar to the the Miller vs. Lincoln Vs. Hobart v.s (whomever), I wonder how much the machine counts vs. the skills of the actual “welder himself”. Any machine my welding instructor touched, laid...

Anyone enjoying consecutive days and nights of too cold weather?

I just looked at your chart and thought……”Wow those are perfect numbers”……Then I realized y'all use C not F…… Sorry mate, but that would be “hellish” for my fat ass…………. 😅

    Concrete Anchor Bolts

I am with @Ping and @GeoHorn on this. My initial thought was to "weld on” an extension to your plate, and use the existing hoist bolts as the rear anchor points. Then you could most likely “safely drill” 1 (maybe 2) holes for the front of your base plate. Full disclosure: I am not a...

    A BX, a B, and a L ... ?

Heres my .02 Get it…. I reason it like this……….Since you’re buying used, there will be "little to no” depreciation. Hence, selling it (if you decided to for whatever reason), would be a “net zero” type of situation. So with little to no risk, why not? Now if you were looking at a “new...

    B3030 HSDC attaching a BH77

I would LOVE to see what/how you do it. That will be a very cool project sir. Please post your progress! (y) EDIT: There are lots of very talented people on this board, so if you have any questions or such, just ask.:)

Koyker KB60 (backhoe attachment) and Kubota B2710

I have never had any experience with a 3 point BH, but rumor has it that they have the ability to “magically" turn your tractor into a “2 piece” model. 😅 Do you have the ability to "fab up” a sub frame? It’s sounds like a lot of work, but would be a cool project.

    L3901 - slight implement offset?

Very interesting……. This explains a lot……….. When I ordered my tractor, I specifically ordered a “draw bar”. But was thinking of something like this….for a "trailer ball”. But on delivery day, I was so excited, I totally forgot about it. Then I saw this “thing" laying there about the same...

Is that you, "Bolt Face" ??????

I can’t claim any “intelectual high ground” either……The hoist was an after-thought. Actually, when I built the house, I was a practicing “professional mechanic”, so there was no need for a hoist…..I had plenty of access to hoists. So when I built the house, the "upper part” of the garage was...
